    Black Forest–that’s the tree, right? Or is the main tree of the German and Swiss Black Forest Picea abies, Norway spruce? Let me Google before I post this. Pinus nigra, Austrian pine. And yes the Picea abies dominates the Black Forest. FYI.

    Great photos–that bark does have a life and an esthetic of its own!!! Thanks for posting the photos.
